How to book using insurance
I work with The Lactation Network (TLN) to verify private insurance benefits and process billing. Here are the steps to take if you’d like to see if they partner with your insurance company.

Wait for an e-mail letting you know if they can bill your insurance or not
If you are approved: schedule with me!
If you are NOT approved, you can still schedule with me and pay out of pocket by selecting “self-pay” options.
TLN does not work with every insurance company. It can take a few days to receive approval. Most non-Medicaid/Medicare plans pay for ~6 visits (either through TLN or by reimbursement)! This includes prenatal education. If you get approved through TLN prenatally, that carries through delivery and you’ll be ready to go when you need it. If you need more than 6 visits, many plans will allow them if requested.
Which appointment type do I need?
Virtual
Virtual is appropriate for prenatal education and preparation, and allows us to establish a relationship! We can review some important things and answer any and all questions.
If you are outside of Baltimore City, we can work remotely on feeding issues or pumping issues. Depending on whats going on, I can have you send videos or photos of latching/pumping/baby and go from there.
In-Home
If you need help with a feeding issue and you live in Baltimore City, an in-person visit is preferred. During an in-home visit, I’ll travel to you! We can do a weighted feed (pre and post feed weights to determine the approximate amount transferred), work on bottle feeding, complete an oral assessment…among other things! We can also go over any other issues or questions you might have.
After we’ve established care in-person, virtual follow-ups might be an option.
